Crystal Clean Green Cleaning Brings Small Business Experience to National American Heart Association Workplace Well Being Panel
Crystal Clean Green Cleaning has spent years working to build a healthier workplace for the people behind our residential cleaning teams.
In March 2026, that experience reached a national audience when Crystal Clean co founder Steven Pajevic participated in an American Heart Association Well being Works Better panel focused on workplace well being and the Scorecard used by employers to assess and strengthen their programs. Public event material identified Steven as co owner of Crystal Clean Green Cleaning. Instagram
The opportunity was meaningful because Crystal Clean brought a small business perspective to a conversation that can easily become dominated by large employers.
We do not have a massive human resources department.
We do not have an unlimited benefits budget.
We run a local service business where employees work physically demanding jobs, schedules matter, clients depend on us, and every operational decision has real consequences.
That reality helped shape our approach to workplace well being.
Crystal Clean began its American Heart Association Well being Works Better Scorecard journey with a Bronze rating. Rather than treating the score as the finish line, we used the feedback to identify areas where the company could improve.
Over time, employee input helped influence those decisions.
The American Heart Association's national Employer Story about Crystal Clean describes how that process eventually helped the company progress from Bronze to Platinum and develop programs around safety, health, professional development, stress reduction, nutrition, employee support, and community involvement. wellbeingworksbetter.org
That work is important internally.
We also believe it matters to our clients.
Residential cleaning is a people business.
The quality and consistency a homeowner experiences are directly connected to the people doing the work.
When employees are trained, supported, listened to, and given safer systems in which to work, that can contribute to more stable teams and more consistent service.
That is one reason workplace well being is not separate from how we think about quality.
It is part of it.
Crystal Clean is proud to have represented a small Sarasota business in a national American Heart Association conversation.
We are even more proud that the experience came from practices being tested and improved inside a real operating company.
For us, the goal has never been to look like a large corporation.
It is to prove that a small business can take its people seriously, serve its customers well, and continue getting better.
